Designing anything, let alone a massive building, isnot a simple task. It requires pragmatic decision-making coupled with bold creativity. As with anyform of art, the designer ultimately strives to makesomething striking and original. Sometimes thiseffort pays off in the form of a lasting structure — awork that transcends time and place. While othertimes, well, not so much. Of course, it’s not alwaysthe architect’s fault. We round up the 23 ugliestskyscrapers from around the world, ones that beganwith high intentions but eventually didn’t quite meetthe mark.
